Robert “Bob” Robert E. Gutzman, born at home north of Almena, KS on December 14, 1929, to Otto and Opal Gutzman, passed away on August 15, 2016, at the age of 86. Bob graduated from Almena High School in 1947. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict, and greatly enjoyed his three years as a pilot instructor for NATO forces in San Marcos, TX.
Bob was a staunch K-State supporter, graduating from KSU in 1957. Bob was a life-long salesman and in 1978 established his own business selling agricultural implements to dealers in Kansas, Oregon and eastern Colorado. Gutzman Marketing Services joined AIMRA in 1979 and the firm continued in membership with EMDA through 2010. Gutzman was a member of the AIMRA Board of Directors from 1989 through 1994, serving as President in 1993.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert O. Gutzman (1996).
His is survived by his brother, Gerald D Gutzman; wife of 61 years, Nelda T. Gutzman; daughter, Nola B. Bredal (Michael); and grandchildren, Mariah, Paal, and Jon Bredal. He has touched the lives of many more, who will miss him as their uncle and friend.
Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. with funeral service following at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, at Woodland United Methodist Church, 1100 W. 15th St. N., in Wichita. A family luncheon will follow. Graveside services will be held same day at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetry.
